PLANNING YOUR VISIT

WILL I BE ABLE TO BUY FOOD AND DRINKS?

Yes! The Swerve Cafe will be serving an organic menu of hot food items. Please bring cash as there is no ATM at the park itself. Beer and wine are sold inside the Gallery Theatre. Don’t forget to bring ID if you plan on drinking.

WHAT SHOULD I BRING TO THE FESTIVAL?

Barndsdall is predominantly an outdoor park experience except for the theater. We recommend that you bring sun block, a hat, sunglasses, comfortable shoes, a sweater and lots of friends. We’re celebrating creativity and self-expression so bring happy vibes.

WHERE CAN I PARK?

Barnsdall – There is limited parking on-site at Barndall, so we encourage you to use public transportation. Street parking is available around the park. Additional parking is available in the Kaiser Permanente lot (accessible on Vermont via Barnsdall Drive).

Vista Theatre – parking is available in the KCET parking lot at 4401 Sunset Blvd (Friday night only). Street and metered parking is also available.

Echoplex – street and metered parking is available.

I’VE NEVER BEEN TO LOS ANGELESWHAT NEIGHBORHOOD OF THE CITY WILL THE FESTIVAL BE LOCATED?

Barnsdall Art Park is located in the neighborhood of Los Feliz, which lies east of Hollywood and west of Silverlake. While Hollywood remains the more obvious destination of choice for the average tourist, Los Feliz and the neighborhoods east of it hold some rare treasures that are off the heavily traveled tourist path. Visit Getting There for address, maps and driving directions.

I CAN ONLY ATTEND THE FESTIVAL FOR ONE DAYWHEN SHOULD I COME?

Swerve Festival has been designed to be a new experience everyday. Opening night is the gala US premiere of Doug Pray’s Surfwise followed by an after-party. Saturday is an all day experience at Barnsdall featuring free live music, art installations, activities, an organic café and more, plus a late night of music at the Echoplex. Sunday again features a full day of live music, films and activities at Barnsdall followed by a closing night screening at Vista Theater of Anton Corbijn’s Control. After the Vista, there will be an awards celebration and closing night party featuring We Are Scientists at Echoplex. Visit Film, Music, Art and Activities to find out more.

IF I HAVE QUESTIONS AT THE FESTIVAL, WHERE SHOULD I GO FOR HELP?

At Barnsdall, you’ll find an information kiosk at the top of the stairs when you enter the park. Maps, programs guides will be available to help you navigate all the day’s events. Around the park you will find Festival Staff wearing Swerve staff t-shirts, who will be happy to help and answer questions.

I’M ON A BUDGET. WHAT’S THE BEST WAY TO HAVE A GREAT FESTIVAL EXPERIENCE?

Once inside, you can choose to purchase tickets for films screenings or avail of the free live music performances on the Great Lawn and the multitude of fun activities around the venue. IS THERE AN ADVANTAGE TO BUYING A FESTIVAL PASS VS INDIVIDUAL TICKETS?

The Swerve Pass allows you to access to all events such as the opening and closing night films as well as the awards show and all parties. The $65 festival pass is discounted ($115 value) and all-inclusive, the individual tickets are not.
